Relevant Football is a pro-bono project of Relevant Research, intended to provide the public with an accessible way to learn more about the countries participating in the 2026 FIFA World Cup. We believe the quadrennial global football tournament provides a venue to think about global neighbors as peers. We take that international attention and redirect it toward a richer understanding of each country and their economies, demographics, energy transitions, and environments. With so much conflict in the world, the World Cup is a rare moment to highlight what connects us.

Source data for this project comes from a number of international organizations including FIFA, the IMF, UNDESA, and the World Bank. The site will be actively maintained and quickly updated following each game.
